What is a chemical peel ?
A chemical peel involves the application of a chemical solution to the surface of the skin to carefully remove outer layers of the skin. A range of different formulations are available, for your particular skin type.
What can a chemical peel do ?
Chemical peels are most effective on the face. They can be used to improve ageing skin, fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, freckles, acne scarring and irregular pigmentation.
How is a chemical peel performed ?
A solution is applied to the area being treated. Depending on the type of peel that is recommended for you, the treatment will take from 30 minutes to an hour to perform. The skin will then begin to peel in 2-3 days removing the layer of dead skin cells and be replaced by healthy skin cells. This results in a younger, clearer and rejuvenated skin. A superficial peel treatment consists of 1-2 applications in a week for a course of treatment or 1-2 times a month. A medium peel will require repeated applications once a week for 4 weeks.
What types of chemical peels are available at our clinic ?
Easy Phytic and Easy TCA (Trichloroaetic acid 15%)

Easy Phytic (Superficial peel) - These peels may be used to treat fine wrinkling, sun damage, dry or flaking skin, mild acne marks, "age spots" (brownish patches which can be caused by sun damage) and balancing irregular skin tones (i.e. skin which may be uneven in colour.)

Easy TCA - A medium depth peel, targeting surface wrinkles, blemishes, and certain pigmentation problems (again, making different coloured skin more even).
Are there any side effects from a chemical peel ?
During the treatment you may experience a mild stinging sensation, this will disappear quickly. Some pinkness may occur depending on the sensitivity of the skin. Flaking of the skin after your peel is normal and should subside during the first few days after the treatment. Sunscreen is mandatory after the treatment.
How much will it cost ?
Chemical Peel treatments start from £100 but vary depending on the type of peel used to treat your skin.
